Police Arrest 10 After LSU Fraternity Pledge Died of Alcohol Poisoning During Hazing

Ten people are facing hazing charges on Wednesday in the death of a Louisiana State University fraternity pledge that died from alcohol poisoning last month, according to CBS News. The LSU Police Department said in a statement that one of the 10 suspects, 19-year-old Matthew Alexander Naquin of Boerne, Texas, also faces a negligent homicide charge in the death of 18-year-old Maxwell Gruver, a freshman from Roswell, Georgia. An autopsy discovered that at the time of Gruver’s death his blood alcohol level was .495, more than six times the legal limit for driving, according to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner.
